Welcome to Salem Academy of Magic, previously an all female school located in the forests of Massachusetts. Two years ago, Salem opened its doors to male students and staff as well as female, a milestone in the school's three hundred year history. This is a result of the attack suffered on the school by a secret, malignant group (now extinct) known only as the Ethereals. Salem survived the attack, but the damages to the school were drastic. It had been strictly a girl's school for almost three and a half centuries, but it has now opened itself to male students. New arrangements had to be made to the school. Salem adjusted, though it was a difficult change for long time staff and students. Despite minor disputes, all seemed well. But a new threat is emerging to the knowledge of few. "The New Puritans," as they call themselves, seek to purify the magical race by exposing magic to Muggles. Their mischief is limited, but they will prove to be a bigger problem for not only Salem Academy, but for all of Wizarding America.
